In RuneScape: Dragonwilds, brew 1 Irit, 1 Poison Ichor, and 1 Glass Vessel at a Brewing Cauldron to make an Antipoison Potion. The Weak Antipoison Potion uses 1 Marrentill, 1 Bittercap Mushroom, and 1 Clay Vessel instead. Choosing the correct recipe matters when preparing for Bloodblight Swamp, where environmental hazards and enemies inflict poison.

Antipoison potion recipes

Both recipes produce one potion at a Brewing Cauldron, but they require different herbs, secondary ingredients, and containers.

PotionIngredients per craftVesselEffect
Weak Antipoison Potion1 Marrentill + 1 Bittercap Mushroom1 Clay VesselRemoves poison stacks and grants 33% resistance to poison buildup for 300 seconds
Antipoison Potion1 Irit + 1 Poison Ichor1 Glass VesselGrants the upgraded Antipoison II perk

The weak recipe and its five-minute effect are documented by the RuneScape: Dragonwilds Wiki. TH.GL’s crafting calculator lists the Irit recipe for the item named Antipoison Potion. The wiki’s Antipoison perk page identifies that potion as the source of Antipoison II.

Check the full item name before gathering materials. The five-minute duration and 33% resistance listed for the weak potion should not be applied to the upgraded potion.

Prepare your brewing station and ingredients

According to IGN’s crafting guide, mining Clay for the first time unlocks the Brewing Cauldron recipe. Clay is available in Whispering Swamp.

Building the cauldron requires 16 Ash Logs, 6 Clay, 6 Coarse Thread, and 10 Rune Essence. It also needs Charcoal as fuel. Make Charcoal by processing Ash Logs or Oak Logs in a Kiln, and keep it separate from the three ingredients used in the potion recipe.

For the weak potion, prepare the following before returning to your brewing station:

  • Marrentill: A Whispering Swamp walkthrough shows the herb growing throughout the area.
  • Bittercap Mushrooms: The same walkthrough recommends checking slightly drier ground around the swamp. Their small size makes them easy to overlook.
  • Clay: Mine enough for your vessels as well as any Clay still needed to construct the cauldron.
  • Charcoal: Reserve some for brewing after preparing your containers.

That walkthrough and the wiki agree on Marrentill for the weak potion. Older instructions naming Harralander reflect an earlier recipe, so use the updated ingredient when preparing your batch.

Craft the correct vessel

A finished container is part of each recipe. For Weak Antipoison Potions, the wiki’s recipe tree gives this sequence:

  1. Process 1 Clay at a Pottery Wheel to make an Unfired Clay Vessel.
  2. Fire the unfired vessel in a Kiln to obtain a Clay Vessel.
  3. Take the finished vessel, Marrentill, and Bittercap Mushroom to the Brewing Cauldron.
  4. Supply Charcoal fuel and brew the weak potion.

An Unfired Clay Vessel is an intermediate item. Complete the Kiln step before trying to use it in the potion recipe.

The Antipoison Potion requires a Glass Vessel. TH.GL lists a longer preparation chain: process Limestone and Sandstone at a Grindstone, make Molten Glass at a Blast Furnace, then craft the vessel at a Jeweller’s Bench.

For one potion made from raw materials, its calculator lists 3 Limestone, 1 Sandstone, 1 Irit, and 1 Poison Ichor, with 2 Ground Sandstone left over. If you already have a Glass Vessel, you only need the Irit and Poison Ichor for the final brewing step.

FAQ

Why do older guides list Harralander?

IGN’s April 23, 2025 guide lists Harralander for the weak potion. The Dragonwilds Wiki records that update 0.9, released September 11, 2025, replaced that herb with Marrentill. This dated change explains the disagreement between the recipes.

Does the weak potion make Bloodblight Swamp safe?

The weak potion clears existing poison stacks and provides 33% resistance to further poison buildup for five minutes. Older guides describe complete protection, but the wiki records the revised resistance effect in update 0.9.

Bloodblight Swamp still contains poisonous air, water, plants, and enemies. Carry additional potions for longer trips, watch the effect timer, and continue avoiding poison hazards.

What should I check if brewing will not start?

Confirm that your ingredients match the full potion name, your cauldron has Charcoal, and your vessel is finished. For the weak recipe, check specifically for Marrentill and a fired Clay Vessel. For Antipoison Potion, check for Irit, Poison Ichor, and a Glass Vessel.
