Zamorak armor in RuneScape: Dragonwilds is power level 6 mage equipment with bonuses for stamina recovery and magic attacks. To make the hood, robes, and robe legs, buy and use their recipe vestiges from the Evil Emporium, then craft each piece at an Armour Bench.

How to unlock Zamorak armor

The set consists of three armor pieces: Zamorak Hood, Zamorak Robes, and Zamorak Robe Legs. Each has a separate recipe unlock purchased through Postie Pete’s Evil Emporium.

Two vestige names are documented on the individual Dragonwilds Wiki item pages:

  • Zamorak Hood: Purchase and use Fabric That Hums With You to unlock the headpiece.
  • Zamorak Robes: Purchase and use Whispering Elbow Pad to unlock the body piece.

The hood entry identifies its vestige, while both the robes entry and MetaForge’s robes database identify Whispering Elbow Pad.

Buying a vestige unlocks access to a recipe after you use or study it; you still need the crafting materials. Keep the recipe purchase budget separate from the Infernal Fragments consumed during crafting.

Use an Armour Bench for the finished armor. The Dragonwilds Wiki records that update 0.12.0, released June 23, 2026, moved the hood and robes to this station when the Smithing Anvil was removed.

Crafting costs for the full set

All three pieces use Mystic Cloth, Black Metal Bars, Infernal Fragments, and Demonic Oil. The Dragonwilds Wiki’s set page lists the quantities below. The body recipe also matches Fextralife and TH.GL’s crafting calculator.

MaterialHoodBody robesRobe legs
Mystic Cloth286
Black Metal Bars264
Infernal Fragments123224
Demonic Oil132

Crafting all three pieces consumes 16 Mystic Cloth, 12 Black Metal Bars, 68 Infernal Fragments, and 6 Demonic Oil, excluding vestige purchases.

The hood costs the fewest materials in every category. If you want an inexpensive first piece, it is the easiest starting point by crafting cost. The body robes require the largest investment and provide the highest individual defenses within the set.

For the body robes alone, TH.GL calculates a raw-material shopping list of 96 Mystic Fibres, 54 Undead Bone, 36 Black Metal Scraps, 32 Infernal Fragments, 18 Coal, 9 Limestone, 9 Vile Ashes, and 2 Sandstone. That calculation includes making the intermediate components and leaves one Ground Sandstone unused.

Defenses and set bonuses

The Dragonwilds Wiki gives these defensive values:

  • Hood: 15 melee, 16 ranged, and 18 magic defense.
  • Body robes: 38 melee, 39 ranged, and 45 magic defense.
  • Robe legs: 23 melee, 24 ranged, and 27 magic defense.

Together, those values total 76 melee, 79 ranged, and 90 magic defense. Magic defense is the highest category on every piece. Fextralife independently lists the same body-robe defenses.

The wiki’s hood and robes pages list three set-bonus thresholds: one piece reduces stamina regeneration delay by 50%, two pieces increase magic attack speed by 10%, and three pieces increase magical critical chance by 15%. Reduced regeneration delay means stamina recovery begins sooner; it does not describe a faster regeneration rate.

Published equipment listings disagree on the thresholds. MetaForge assigns those same bonuses to two, three, and four pieces. It also reports the body robes using a single Defense value of 55, separate resistances, and Vital Shield, rather than the wiki’s three defense categories. Check the in-game equipment tooltip before planning around a particular bonus threshold.

Gathering the crafting materials

A power level 6 equipment walkthrough describes the following gathering routes in Dowdun Reach. It also identifies completing Withering Heights in Fel Hollow as the route into the region.

  • Mystic Cloth: Collect Mystic Fibres from packs dropped by Mages of Zamorak and Zamorakian Acolytes. Process fibres into thread at a Spinning Wheel, then weave the thread at a Loom.
  • Black Metal Bars: Collect Black Metal Scraps from Black Knights and combine them with Coal at a Blast Furnace.
  • Demonic Oil: Combine Necrotic Bonemeal, Vile Ashes, and Glass Vessels at a Brewing Cauldron. The walkthrough obtains bones from zombies and ashes from ash piles.
  • Infernal Fragments: Gather them from enemies and chests throughout the region. The walkthrough also identifies Blue Dragons as a farming option.

Glass Vessels add several preparation steps. The wiki’s crafting breakdown uses ground limestone and ground sandstone to make Molten Glass at a Blast Furnace, followed by vessel crafting at a Jeweler’s Bench.

Gather processed materials before returning to the Armour Bench. This makes it easier to see whether your remaining bottleneck is a recipe unlock, Infernal Fragments, or an unfinished component such as Demonic Oil.
